One pill "captopril" contains 25 or 50 mg of active ingredient and auxiliary ingredients: corn starch, lactose, magnesium stearate and talc.

Dosage and Administration



Tablets "Captopril" should be taken one hour before a meal.The dose is determined individually.

recommended instructions to "captopril" initial dose is 25 mg two times a day.Thereafter, it can be increased.Increasing the dose gradually is conducted in compliance with the range of 2 to 4 weeks.

When hypertension mild to moderate forms of the maintenance dose is 25 mg tw
o times a day.The maximum allowed single dose, "captopril" in this case is 50 mg.When hypertension severe the patient may be assigned to a maximum dose: 50 mg 3 times a day.

the treatment of chronic heart insufficiency applied dose of 25 mg, to be taken two or three times a day.When insufficient therapeutic effect, the dose can be gradually increased up to the maximum.

patients with severe renal impairment at the beginning of treatment should be given no more than 12.5-25 mg per day.If necessary, the daily dose may be increased to meet the long intervals between increased.

contraindications and side effects



use of the drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the components, pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as in the treatment of children and adolescents under the age of 18 years.In addition, "Captopril" is not indicated in the following diseases and disorders:

- hypotension;

- angioedema in history;

- kidney disease, renal dysfunction, and severe forms of liver;

- mitral stenosis, aortic stenosis and other diseases that result in impaired blood flow from the left ventricle of the heart;

- cardiogenic shock.

«Captopril" prescribed with caution in the elderly, with severe autoimmune diseases, diabetes, ischemic heart and brain, inhibition of bone marrow blood circulation, hemodialysis, as well as conditions in which reduced blood volume, including vomiting and diarrhea.

Side effects of the drug may manifest as tachycardia, marked reduction in blood pressure, orthostatic hypotension, peripheral edema, impaired renal function and proteinuria.It is also possible dizziness, headache, somnolence, asthenia, fatigue, blurred vision, cough, bronchospasm, pulmonary edema and allergic reactions.In some cases, patients may dry mouth, taste change, nausea, stomatitis, and loss of appetite.
